For the 2nd year in a row the On ZAPEndurance team will have a strong presence at the Litchfield Hills Road Race in Litchfield, CT. Tyler Pennel will be returning following his runner-up finish a year ago and he will be joined by teammates Aaron Nelson and Josh Izewski. The historic 7.1 mile race begins at 1pm this Sunday afternoon.
A year ago Pennel and On ZAP Endurance athlete Johnny Crain had historic performances in Litchfield with Tyler taking 2nd overall in the fastest time ever run by an American on the course. Crain finished 4th in one of the 10 fastest times ever run by an American. This year Litchfield will be Pennel’s first race back after recovering from a bout of osteitis pubis over the winter.
Aaron Nelson will be making his return to racing for the first time since taking 10th in his half marathon debut at the US Half Marathon Championships last month. For Izewksi it will be his final race before heading to Duluth, MN for the Grandma’s Marathon on June 22nd.
